Alamo is an unincorporated community tucked between Walnut Creek and Danville. It lies 37.850 degrees North, -122.031 degrees West. Named by the Spanish in the area not for the famed, ill-fated Texas fortress but instead for the abundance of poplar trees that followed the San Ramon Creek.
